Monkey See…

My mother liked my aunt’s mitts so much that she wanted a pair of her own.

For my aunt, but patiently modeled by my lovely mother.

v.v. bad

I’ve been doing so well lately at working through my stash, trying to finish projects, frogging what I wasn’t enamored of, and weeding through my stash. And then I come face-to-face with a wall of new madelinetosh yarns. Epic fail on my part.

Oops

I accidentally cast-on for another sweater. It’s like an illness, this chronic starteritis. I need therapy.

Little Cloud

My resolution of finishing projects lasted about as long as most resolutions do. I’m only one button band away from finishing one sweater, and one sleeve from finishing another, but I felt the lure of madelinetosh yarn.

This color is magical. Not violet, not grey, not silver, but a beautifully lustrous combination of all three. It looks a bit like cloudy skies. One of these days I will stop petting it and actually knit with it.

More Socks

Another pair of socks, this time a completely brainless pair of basic ribbed socks to keep my hands busy while watching TV. I like how they turned out – they look a bit like those quartz stones where the color keeps changing. The wool is very thick and warm, but surprisingly soft. I wish I’d gone down to a US 0…they’re a bit looser than I prefer.

Needles: US 2/2.75 mm

Rosamond

Quite possibly the most beautiful socks I’ve ever worn, let alone knit. I have a feeling this will be my go-to sock pattern for gifts.

The yarn is lovely, too. I can’t figure out why they would name such a beautiful yarn “Midway”…those lovely heathery colors deserve something much nicer than that. But it was a nice yarn to work with, and had generous yardage, too.
