I’ve been a bit obsessed with madelinetosh for a few years now, always gravitating towards it at the Fiber Festival or finding justification for ordering just one more skein, so you can imagine how excited I was when I heard they were opening a store in the next city over! I kept meaning to go, kept talking about it, but somehow never made it. I won’t lie…I hate driving to Fort Worth.

But when I knew that I would be moving to London to go to school, and wouldn’t have another chance for quite awhile, I made it a birthday wish to go. In the end, it became a family trip to the madelinetosh store, and it couldn’t have been a nicer way to see it. Especially since I made my sister drive.

It is a stunning store, full of light, open spaces, and with beautiful fibers everywhere you look.

They also have a wall of fabrics which are impossible to resist. No really, I couldn’t.

In addition to their own yarns, they also had lots of other brands, including local fiber artists and some of the more difficult to find, like the gorgeous Skein yarn from Australia spilling out in stunning splashes of color. (There was serious lust going on in this corner)

The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, taking us on a tour around the store, offering to wind our purchases, and turning a blind eye to my jumping bean of a nephew doing mad moves to Sesame Street in the middle of the store.

I am really looking forward to getting to explore some of the yarn stores around London, but I’m so glad I finally got a chance to see the madtosh store and stock up on some lovely things before I left.
